Having spent five years working in the professional services giant, Mitan Sachdev left to start his own restaurant, Falafel City, with his wife, opening on 17 January 2013. So a year on, how does he feel? “There’s still a long way to go,” he told The Capitalist. “It’s a new industry for me so there’s a steep learning curve.” It was a lucky break from Land Securities which enabled Sachdev to open his eatery – offering the first timer a space in the O2 Centre, Finchley. Now, with a number of interested parties hoping to help Falafel City open a new unit – Sachdev could be coming home to the Square Mile.
